Note: 1. Please make sure all the cables are connected tightly; The vehicle’s DLC is not always located
under the dash; for the location of the DLC, please refer to the vehicle’s user manual.
2. We suggest using wired connection when working on processes which require large and stable
data flow (like programming modules). Please refer to the actual prompts shown on device when
processing.
3. When checking or programming TPMS sensors, VCI connection is unnecessary.
Precautions when processing
1. The voltage range on the car: +9~+18V DC;
2. When testing some special functions, the operator must operate according to the prompts and meet the test conditions.
For some models [special functions], the conditions that need to be met are: engine water temperature 80 ℃~105 ℃, turn
off headlights and air conditioners, keep the accelerator pedal in the released position, etc.;
3. The electronic control systems of different models are very complicated. If you encounter situations where it is
impossible to test or a large amount of test data is abnormal, you can search for the ECU of the vehicle and select the
menu for the model on the ECU nameplate;
4. If the vehicle type or electronic control system to be tested is not found in the diagnostic function, please upgrade the
vehicle diagnostic software to the latest version using the Updates menu or consult the XTOOL technical service
department;
5. Only wiring harnesses provided by XTOOL and designed for the scan tool are permitted to be used with this scan tool to
avoid damage to the vehicle or the scan tool;
6. When running a Diagnostics function, it is forbidden to shut down the scan tool directly. You should cancel the task
before returning to the main interface and then shutting down the scan tool.
3. TPMS MODIFICATIONS
By clicking “TPMS” button on the main menu, IP819TP allows you to diagnosis the TPMS (Tire-Pressure Monitoring
System) of the vehicle, as well as activating (checking) the tire pressure sensor, searching for OEM tire sensor info,
relearn sensors, program XTool universal TPMS sensors, and perform special functions inside TPMS (available soon).
BEGINNING TPMS DIAGNOSIS
When doing TPMS activation/relearn/sensor programming, VCI connection is unnecessary. For diagnosis/special
functions, please make sure the VCI box is connected to the OBD port.

9
To begin TPMS testing, select “TPMS” menu on the center of the main screen.
The following menu allows you to select the system via those methods:
Vehicle: Select the manufacturer and the model of the car and get into the menu for that specific vehicle.
OEM: Choose the manufacturer and the part number of the OEM TOMS sensor and get into the menu for specific sensors.

10
⚠
Diagnosis and relearn menu are not supported via selecting menu via OEM sensor. Please select by vehicle if
necessary.
Auto detect VIN: Automatically choose the manufacturer by scanning the VIN code of the vehicle. Please connect the
VCI box to do so.
Manually Input VIN: Automatically choose the manufacturer by recognizing the VIN code that you have manually input.

11
History: Check the vehicles that you have done before. You can also check TPMS Diagnosis Report here (see Report
section for details).
SELECT BY VEHICLE
To select the vehicle that you are going to do TPMS diagnosis, please select the region first. Normally the region should
match the area where you are in. For some of the imported vehicles, select the area where the vehicle is manufactured.

12
After that, select the region on the left (the region where the brand is originated) to find the manufacturer you need.
Click the brand, find the model, and select the model year to continue.
⚠
Sometimes there are multiple menus with the same model year, The menu will also show the frequency and
the part number of the sensor for you to recognize which one to choose.

OEM/XTOOL SENSOR INFORMATION CHECK
We will introduce these functions on the following parts of the manual.
⚠
Sometimes not all functions are shown on the menus. It may because of:
1. Only activation and programming menus will be shown on the menus when you select the
menu via searching by sensors. This menu will also have links to its supported vehicles so
you can go to the corresponding model to unlock more functions.
2. For indirect TPMS systems (without sensors), activation, program and relearn will be
inaccessible as there are no sensors equipped on the car when it is out from factory.
SENSOR ACTIVATION
When activating the TPMS sensors that are installed on the vehicle, please follow the steps below:
1) Click the tire icon on the left or the form on the right to select the tire that you want to check. We will start from the LF

3) The device will show the TPMS sensor ID, tire pressure, temperature and the battery status if the sensor is
successfully triggered. If not, a failed sign will show up like the picture below.
4) After activated one of the sensors, go clockwise and check other tires, and go through the entire vehicle. Sometimes
there are also sensor inside the spare tire, and you can activate that if necessary.
TPMS DIAGNOSIS

17
With the VCI box, IP819 TP can communicate with the vehicle and get information on TPMS system like the sensor ID
written inside the system, the fault codes (DTCs) recorded in the system and so on. Before doing this, make sure that you
have the VCI box connected to the OBD port of the vehicle.
XTOOL SENSOR PROGRAMMING
IP819 TP can write specific IDs into XTOOL Tire Pressure Sensors before they are applied into the tires. There are
several options to program the sensors, we will introduce them one by one in the following sections.

18
COPY ID BY ACTIVATION: Before doing this, make sure that you have activated all 4 sensors on the car. Do not exit, go
to “Program” section and select the tire position that you want to program.
Put the sensor close to the top-right corner of the device. Click “Copy by Activation” and the device will automatically scan
the sensor close to the device.
⚠
When programming, please put all the sensors that you don’t want to program over 2 meters (6 feet) away to
avoid interference. For the sensor(s) that you need to program, don’t take it away for over 10cm (4 inches).
