and receive phone calls, put calls on hold, transfer calls, and so on. Read this user manual carefully to learn how to operate
this product and take advantage of its features.

The menu directory enables you to access the product settings and set up the device according to the network conditions
and your preferences. The menu is set up in a simple and easily accessible manner. Follow these steps to access the menu
and the menu items.
1. Press the MENU/EXIT key to access the menu.
2. Using the UP and DOWN keys, scroll through the
displayed menu options. Press the SELECT key to
view the submenu.
3. Repeat the previous step to browse through the
menu items, submenus, and options.
4. Use the UP key to erase a digit entry error.
5. Press the MENU/EXIT key to cancel your selection
and return to the previous menu level.
6. To choose a menu setting, press SELECT.
Note: Accessing the Phone Setting, Network Settings, SIP Settings, SIP Account, and System Settings submenus
requires a password. Default password is “1234”to login.

The phone book feature enables you to create new entries for your contacts and edit their contact information. It also
enables you to store a number (up to 200) from a received call or a dialed number.
Creating a New Entry
To create a new entry:
1. Type the name, number and domain of the new contact.
2. Press SELECT key to save.
3. Use UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press SELECT again to confirm or to cancel.
Deleting a Contact
To delete a contact in the phone book:
1. Choose Delete and enter the option.
2. Scroll through the phone to locate the number to be deleted.
3. Press the SELECT key to delete.
4. Use UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press SELECT again to confirm or to cancel.

The VoIP phone stores information about calls made or received. The lists are stored from the newest to oldest entries. The
oldest entries are deleted as new entries are added.
Press the MENU/EXIT key, then select Call History to view call information. A maximum of 200 calls can be saved for each
of the received and dialed call logs.
Missed Calls
The Missed Calls list consists of the calls that are not answered. You can choose to dial, detail, delete or save a single
missed call from the missed call logs.
Select a call from the list and press the SELECT key. Select one of the following options by pressing the UP or DOWN keys:
Dial: Dial the number of the selected call.
Detail: Press to view call details.
Delete: Press to delete the number.
Save: Save the number to your phone book.
Note: When you have missed calls, “xxMissedCalls”(xx: number of Missed Calls) is displayed on the idle screen. This
indication will disappear in the following cases:

Reboot the VoIP terminal
Dialed Calls
The Dialed Calls list consists of the most recent numbers dialed. You can choose to dial, detail, delete or save a single
entry from the dialed call logs.
Select a call from the list and press the SELECT key. Select one of the following options by pressing the UP or DOWN keys:
Dial: Dial the number of the selected call.
Detail: Press to view call details.
Delete: Press to delete the number.
Save: Save the number to your phone book.
Answered Calls
The Answered Calls list consists of the most recent calls received. You can choose to dial, detail, delete or save a single
entry from the received call logs.
Select a call from the list and press the SELECT key. Select one of the following options by pressing the UP or DOWN keys:
Dial: Dial the number of the selected call.
Detail: Press to view call details.
Delete: Press to delete the number.
Save: Save the number to your phone book.

Phone Settings allow you to set up phone functions such as call forwarding, speed dialing, and more.
Always Forward
Always Forward allows you to set the account number to which all incoming calls are to be forwarded.
1. Press the MENU/EXIT key. Select Phone Settings then Always Forward.
2. Select from the following options:
Switch: Press to enable or disable this function.
Number: The phone number to forward incoming calls.
Domain: This refers to the SIP account number.
3. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press the SELECT key
again to confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.
After setting Always Forward, “AlwaysForwad” is displayed on the LCD.
Busy Forward
Busy Forward allows you to set the account number to which incoming calls are to be forwarded when the line is busy. This
function requires you to input the following:
1. Press the MENU/EXIT key. Select Phone Settings then Busy Forward.
2. Select from the following options:
Switch: Press to enable or disable this function.
Number: The phone number to forward incoming calls.
Domain: This refers to the SIP account number.
3. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press the SELECT key
again to confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.
After setting Busy Forward, “Busy Forwad”is displayed on the LCD.
No Answer Forward
No Answer Forward allows you to forward the phone number and a specific SIP account when not answered for a specified
period of time. This function requires you to input the following:
1. Press the MENU/EXIT key. Select Phone Settings then No Answer Forward.
2. Select from the following options:
Switch: Press to enable or disable this function.
Number: The phone number to forward incoming calls.
Domain: This refers to the SIP account number.
Timeout: This refers to a period of time (10 sec ~ 50 sec) without answering the call.

3. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press the SELECT key
again to confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.
Even if No Answer Forward is set, no indication on the LCD.
Speed Dial
You can use the speed dial feature to assign a hotkey with the phone numbers that you dial most frequently. You can then
press a hotkey and quickly dial a number instead of keying in the entire phone number or searching for it from the phone
book. See Speed Dialing a Number on page 40. (When registering an outside call number, a prefix digit is needed).
1. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then select Phone Settings and Speed Dial.
2. Choose the hotkey number you want to setup.
3. Input the phone Number and Domain.
4. Use Switch to enable or disable this hotkey.
5. Use Reset to reset this hotkey settings.
6. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press SELECT again to
confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.
Auto Answer
Auto answer allows an incoming call to be answered without requiring any user interaction.
1. Select Switch to enable or disable this function and press the SELECT key to confirm.
2. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press SELECT again to
confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.
After setting Auto Answer, the phone answers to incoming call with one short ringtone.
Ring Tone
You can select the ring tone type according to your preference. To set the ring tone type:
1. Use the UP and DOWN keys to select the favorite ring tone, then press the SELECT key to confirm selection.
2. To adjust the ring tone volume, simply press the UP and DOWN volume control key to increase/decrease the ring
tone volume.
Music on Hold
The Music on Hold function enables the VoIP phone to play music when a caller is placed on hold.
1. Select Switch to enable or disable this function and press the SELECT key.
2. Select Music On Hold to set the music on hold tone from Default/Ringtone.snd/Silence.snd/Musinonhold.snd.
3. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press SELECT again to
confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.
When you enable the Music on Hold function, the next time you receive a call, press the Hold key and the caller will hear
music while waiting for you to answer.
Note: Music on Hold is normally provided by the SV systems. The Music on Hold setting in the VoIP phone should be set to
Disable.
Date Format
You can select the date format according to your preference. To set the date format, do the following:
1. Use the UP and DOWN keys to select the date format, and then press the SELECT key to confirm selection.
MM/DD/YYYY (Default)
DD/MM/YYYY
YYYY/MM/DD
2. Press the MENU/EXIT and use UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press the SELECT again to confirm
or to cancel and back to previous menu level.

You can select the time format according to your preference. To set the time format, do the following:
1. Use the UP and DOWN keys to select the date format, and then press the SELECT key to confirm selection.
12 Hour (Default)
24 Hour
2. Press the MENU/EXIT and use UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press the SELECT again to confirm
or to cancel and back to previous menu level.

This chapter contains important information to help you configure the network settings for your VoIP phone from the phone.
Network Status
You can view the network information from the Network Status submenu.
1. Press the SELECT key to display Status options.
2. Use the UP and DOWN keys to check the internet information.
3. Press the MENU/EXIT key to return to the main menu.
LAN Port Setup
This IP phone supports three different types of connection: DHCP, Static IP, and PPPOE.
If your phone is set to Static IP client, configure the Static IP settings as follows.
1. Choose Static IP setting and press the SELECT key to view the submenus.
2. Use the UP and DOWN keys to check the Static IP Setting.
3. Choose from IP address,Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway.
4. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press SELECT again to
confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.
To enable the PPPoE function:
1. Select IP Type, PPPoE Setting. Press the SELECT key to save your settings.
2. Use the UP and DOWN keys to check the PPPOE Setting.
3. Type the user name and password.
4. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press SELECT again to
confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.

VLAN Setting
To configure the VLAN setting, press the SELECT key to access the submenu options and perform necessary functions.
1. Press the SELECT key to enter the VLAN setting submenu options.
Switch:Select this option to enable/ disable VLAN connection.
Identifier:Select this option to set up VLAN settings ID.
Priority:Select this option to set the priority level (0-7).
2. Use the UP and DOWN keys to select and set the VLAN settings.
3. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press SELECT again to
confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.
DNS Setting
Use to enter the IP address of DNS server(s). A maximum of 2 DNS servers can be entered. To enable the function:
1. Press the SELECT key to enter the submenu.
2. Use the up and down arrow keys to select Primary and Secondary DNS.
3. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press the SELECT key
again to confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.
Note: DNS setting is only available when using the static IP setting. DNS setting is not available when the PPPoE or DHCP
IP setting is selected.
NTP & Time
The NTP & Time Setting allows you to configure the date and time of the VoIP phone manually or synchronize the clock with
the NTP (Network Time Protocol) server, and specify the time zone you are in. The NTP function should be disabled if you
want to set the date and time manually.
Select this option to enable/ disable NTP server connection.
Note: SV systems cannot be used as the NTP server.
Daylight Saving
To set the Daylight Saving feature:
1. Press the SELECT key to enter the submenu.
2. Input the start month, start week, start day, start time, end month, end week, end day, and end time.
3. Select Switch to enable or disable this function and press the SELECT key to confirm.
4. Press the MENU/EXIT and use UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press the SELECT key again to
confirm or cancel and return to the previous menu level.
Save & Restart
Select this option to save settings and restart the network.

System Settings enables you to configure the phone system.
Port Setting
Enter the SIP port number and the RTP port number provided by your ITSP or MIS.

Note: Unless requested, Port Settings do not require modification.
Codec Settings
This function allows you to set Codec priorities and types. This VoIP phone supports the following Codecs: G.711 u-
law/G.711 A-law, G.729A. A maximum of three priority levels can be set in the SDP; “First Priority”, “Second Priority”and
“Third Priority”.
RTP Packet Size
To enable/disable the RTP Packet Size:
1. Press the MENU/EXIT key and select SIP Settings, then RTP Pack Size.
2. Press the SELECT key to display the submenu.
3. Use the UP and DOWN keys to choose G.711 Pkt Size / G.729A Pkt Size. Press the SELECT key to set more
detail settings.
Note: These configurations need to use the same setting as SV systems
RFC2833 Payload
Enter the RFC2833 payload number, default: 101.
Save
Select this option to save settings.

A maximum of ten SIP accounts can be configured with different SIP proxy settings. You will be able to make calls only after
your SIP account is activated.
To configure a SIP account setting from the phone,
For SV8500
1. Select one of the ten SIP accounts to display the submenu. The following items are required:
Registration: Enable / disable this account, set to “Enable”on SV8500.
Send Register: Enable / disable sending SIP account information, set to “Enable”on SV8500.
Reg. ID: Input the registration ID, it is “Extension number”registered on SV8500.
Display Name: Input the user name. The user name will be shown on the terminal display when the phone is
idle.
Auth. Name: Input the Authentication Name used for authentication. It can be identical to or different from SIP
Registration ID. It is “Extension number”registered on SV8500
Password: Input the register password.
Reg. Server: Input the registration server IP address, “(IP Address of SV8500): (port number)”, a port number
is required. The default value of the SV8500 is “5060”
Reg. Port: Input the registration server Port.
Proxy Server: Input the proxy server IP address.
Proxy Port: Input the proxy server port number.
Outbound Proxy: Input the outbound proxy server IP address.
Outbound Proxy Port: Input the outbound proxy server port number.
Expire time: User can set the timeout duration for registration request, it should be “120”or more.
DTMF Type: Input the DTMF type options: RFC2833 / SIP INFO / In-Band, “SIP INFO”is recommended on
SV8500
Keep Alive: To keep connected to the server by period time. Typically enabled to instruct the phone to send
SIP keep-alive message for maintaining a “pinhole” in the user’s firewall through which SIP messages can pass.
MWI: Enable / disable to ask server auto provide Message Waiting Indicator.
Voice Mail: Input the speed dial number for your SIP reg. server or IP-PBX Voice Mail system.
Save: To save your settings.

Note: If you have more than one SIP account, repeat the settings in step 1 to configure additional SIP accounts.
For SV8300
1. Select one of the ten SIP accounts to display the submenu. The following items are required:
Registration: Enable / disable this account, set to “Enable”on SV8300.
Send Register: Enable / disable sending SIP account information, set to “Enable”on SV8300.
Reg. ID: Input the registration ID, it is “Extension number”registered on SV8300.
Display Name: Input the user name. The user name will be shown on the terminal display when the phone is
idle.
Auth. Name: Input the Authentication Name used for authentication. It can be identical to or different from SIP

SIP keep-alive message for maintaining a “pinhole” in the user’s firewall through which SIP messages can pass.
MWI: Enable or disable to ask server auto provide Message Waiting Indicator.
Voice Mail: Input the speed dial number for your SIP reg. server or IP-PBX Voice Mail system.
Save: To save your settings.
2. Press the MENU/EXIT key, then use the UP and DOWN keys to switch from YES/NO. Press SELECT again to
confirm or to cancel and return to previous menu level.
Note: If you have more than one SIP account, repeat the settings in step 1 to configure additional SIP accounts.

System settings contain information to administrate the VoIP phone.
Date / Time
By default, the system default retrieves Date/ Time information from the NTPserver when connected to the Internet.
To manually set the Date and Time:
1. Go to Network, NTP & Time Settings.
2. Disable NTP.
Version
The Firmware Version function allows you to view the current firmware version on the display screen.
Serial Number
The Serial Number function allows you to view the serial number of your VoIP phone.
Factory Reset
Select to restore settings to factory default values.
Reboot
Use this option to reboot the system. A warning message appears on the display, select:
Yes: To reboot.
No: To cancel reboot.
Note: When you reboot phone, only volume level and system time (if you don't enable NTP) will back to default, other item
like Call Log /Redial information will still keep.

This chapter contains important information to help you configure the network settings for your VoIP phone from the phone
and your web browser.
Note: Supported Web browsers are Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9 and 10.
To access the web configuration menu:
1. Connect a PC to a switch or hub that has access to the subnet of the IP Address assigned to the VoIP
phone.
2. Set the network setting to DHCP on your PC.
3. Open your web browser and type in the web address of the phone. For example, if the IP address of the VoIP
phone is 192.168.1.2, input the web address: http:// 192.168.1.2:8000
4. The Web login page is displayed. Enter the user name and the password and click Login. The administrator’s
user name and password are “admin” and “1234” respectively.
5. After successful login, the VoIP phone system information page is displayed.
6. Move the cursor over the menu items on the left navigation bar to access the dropdown menus.

To check the call history from the web browser:
1. Click Call History. The following screen will be displayed.
2. In the Call History Type: dropdown, select call type to view.
Dialed Calls to check dialed calls.
Answered Calls to check the history of answered calls.
Missed Calls to see records of calls you did not answer.
3. Select the page you want to display. The details of the phone number, call time and duration of each call record will
then be shown.
Note: For Information about Missed Calls indication on idle screen, please see “3.MMI, Call History, Missed Calls”.

The phone book menu allows you to add, edit or delete any phone entry from the web browser.
To configure the phone book settings:
1. Click Phone Book. The following screen will be displayed.

2. In the Phone Book Page: dropdown, select page number to view. The web page will display the phone book
information for the phone book page selected.
3. To remove a certain phone entry, check the Select box of the entry to be removed, then click Delete Selected
button.
4. In the Add Phone section, input the contact information of all the required fields to add a phone entry.
5. In the Edit Phone section, edit the desired options to be changed.
6. Click Submit to confirm your settings or Reset to cancel.
