2. CONNECTIONS TO THE NEOPOST ONLINE SERVER
TofullybenefitfromtheconvenienceandpowerofNeopostOnline
Services,yourIJ-40/50/60mailingsystemshouldbeconnectedto
aliveanalogtelephonelinesothatitcanlinktotheNeopostOnline
Serverautomatically.
Atapre-settime(usuallybetweenmidnightand5:00AM),yourIJ-
40/50/60mailingsystemwillinitiatea call to theNeopost Online
Server. For the Usage Reports service, the IJ-40/50/60 mailing
systemautomaticallyconnectsattheendofeachmonthtoupload
departmentandpostalcategorystatistics.FortheeConfirmation
service,yourIJ-40/50/60mailingsystemautomaticallyconnects
atnight ifyou haveprocessed transactions that day. For the Ink
Managementservice,theIJ-40/50/60mailingsystemautomatically
connectswhenit’stimetore-orderinksupplies.
First,themailingsysteminitializesthemodem.

CONTINUE
ONLINE SERVER CALL COMPLETE
If the call fails, an error message will be displayed (See the
Troubleshootingsection foradescriptionoffailedconnections.)
You can also connect to the Online Server manually. You can
performagenericOnlineServerCall,asdescribedbelow,oryou
canperformaspecificaction,suchasaratedownload,orusage
report data upload, etc. See the appropriate section for details.
It is strongly recommended that you leave the IJ-40/50/60
mailing system turned on, in sleep mode, and connected
to a live analog telephone line during the night, to let the
connection to the Neopost Online Server occur
automatically.
2.1 Manually Connecting to the Server
To manually connect to the server:
- Go in supervisor mode by pressing SUPERVIS key
SUPERVIS USER
- EntersupervisorPIN;
- Select ONLINE SERVICES from the IJ-40/50/60 menu and
press O
K

youtoconnecttotheOnlineServerinordertoretrieveinformation
(rateormessages)ortosetparameters(scalecapacity,amount
ofdepartments).Youwillbeinstructedtousethismenuduringa
rate change. You can also use this menu to test your phone
connectionandsettings.
UPLOAD REPORTS DATA: This menu will only appear if you
havesubscribedtotheProfessionalEdition(seesection5).This
menu allows you to manually upload Reports data to the Online
Server.Italsoshouldbeusedbeforeandafteradepartmentreset
(seesection5.3).
E-CONFIRMATION UPLOAD: Displayed in the MAIN MENU
and will only appear if you have subscribed to e-Confirmation
Edition(seesection6).Thismenuallowsyoutomanuallyup-load
e-ConfirmationrecordstotheOnlineServer.
Inaddition,amenuMAILBOXappearsifamessagewasposted
inyourmailingsystem Operator mailboxoryourmailing system
Supervisormailbox(seeexamplessection5).

ConnectionstotheNeopostOnlineServer
In Supervisor mode you can also access SETUP parameters by
pressingtheSETUPkey.UsethemenuTELEPHONESETTINGS
toaddaPREFIXifyourphonesystemrequiresaprefix(generally
0 or 9) to access to an outside line.
SERVER SETTINGS menu should only be used when
instructed by a customer service representative.

3. ACCESSING THE NEOPOST ONLINE WEB SERVICE
Online Service web access is included in the purchase of your
Neopost IJ-40/50/60 mailing system. You’ll want to set up your
accounttoviewinformationaboutyourmailingsystemandaccess
usagereportdataandE-Confirmationtrackingreports.
The Online Service Web lets a user view information about a
singlemailingsystem at atime.
After installation of your IJ-40/50/60 mailing system, follow the
instructionsbelowtosetupyourMyNeopostUserIDandpassword.
Onceactivated,youcanbegintouseyourOnlineServicesaccount
immediately.
3.1 Registering and Accessing Your Account Online
AccesstheNeoposthomepage(www.neopostinc.com).
Click the Support button and choose My Neopost from the
drop-downmenu.

proceed.

4. STANDARD EDITION
The STANDARD EDITION contract provides two services: Ink
Management and Rate Protection.
The Ink Management service will send an electronic update to
theOnlineServerwhenthemailingmachine’sinksupplyisrunning
loworabouttoexpire.Youwillreceiveanemailmessageinforming
youofeitherconditionsothatareplacementcanbeordered.
Rate Protection ensures that the most current postal rates are
installedonyourmailingsystem.AfterthePostalServiceannounces
achangetoitsrateandfeeschedule,theOnlineServerdownloads
thenewratesintoyourmailingmachine.Yourmailingmachinewill
automaticallyswitchtotheapprovedratesontheeffectivedateof
theratechange.
4.1 Ink Management Service
IfyouhavepurchasedtheInkManagementservice,theIJ-40/50/
60mailingsystemmonitorsforbothlowinkstatusandexpiration
dateforthecartridge.Whenaninkcartridgeneedsreplacement,
the mailing system displays an alert message and initiates a
connectiontotheNeopostOnlineServer.
WhentheOnlineServerprocessesthealert,Neopostsendsane-
mailreminderthata replacement willneedtobeordered.
Theemail notification is sent tothe emailaddress in your online
profile.(AccesstheNeopostCustomerWebapplicationandclick
the link to edit this email address.)

4.2 Rate Protection Service – Downloading a New Rate
TheRateProtectionservicemakescertainthatyoualwayshavethe
latest postal rates loaded on your IJ-40/50/60 mailing system.
WhenanewrateisannouncedbythePostOffice,Neopostprepares
thenecessaryratechangesandsendsanemailnotificationabout
thependingratechangetotheemailaddressinyouronlineprofile.
(Access the Neopost Customer Web application and click the
linktoeditthisemailaddress.)Followtheinstructionsin
theemail.
TheNeopostOnlineServerschedulesanautomaticratedownload
to occur at the appropriate time. The rate download will happen
duringaregularcalltotheNeopostOnlineServer–youdonotneed
todo anythingtoreceivethenewratepackage.
If your mailing machine is not covered by the Rate Protec-
tion service, you must contact your Neopost Customer
Service representative to obtain the new rate package.
Uponplacingtheorder,asimilarprocesswillelectronically
download the new rate for you.
To confirm download of a new rate package (manual call
only):
